Life Full of Promise

Jacob was born on March 12, 2007, in Mount Holly, New Jersey. He grew up in Mount Laurel with his loving family. He was kind, full of energy, and had big dreams. Jacob was about to graduate from Lanier High School in June. He planned to go to The College of New Jersey to study biology. He was excited about his future.

Active in School Life

Jacob was not just a student—he was also a swimmer. He was part of the swim team at Lanier High School. He enjoyed playing volleyball and lifting weights. When he wasn’t playing sports, he liked video games and spending time with friends. His bright smile will be missed by all.

Loved by His Family

Jacob leaves behind his parents, Monica and Jack; his sister, Jacqueline; and Meta Lie, who will miss their brother dearly. His grandmother, Bertha Mata, also loved him deeply.

Tragic Accident

On Thursday, May 27, Jacob was in a car accident in Hopewell Township, Marshall County. He was a passenger in a Honda Civic that crashed into a tractor-trailer on Route 31. Sadly, he lost his life in the accident. Two other Lanier High School seniors were also in the car and were badly hurt. The crash happened just days before their graduation. It was a heartbreaking moment for the whole school.

Gloomy Day at School

The news of Jacob’s passing spread quickly. Students at Lanier High School felt the loss deeply. Senior Derrick Hammond shared how quiet and sad the school felt that day. Another student, Evan Gaddy, said it was hard to know that Jacob would not get to enjoy graduation and the fun times ahead.

Funeral and Burial Details

Friends and family are invited to say goodbye to Jacob. His viewing will be on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It will be held at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ.

The final mass will be on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. It will take place at Saint John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 560 Walton Avenue, Mount Laurel, NJ. After the service, Jacob will be laid to rest at Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery.
