Prizm announces Ken Schneck as new Editor
Prizm is exited to announce that Ken Schneck has been named Editor. Schneck is a Cleveland-based author and professor who has been writing for Prizm since 2018 and has been serving as Contributing Editor since April of 2019.
“We are thrilled to have Ken join our team,” says Carol Zimmer Clark, Publisher of Prizm and Senior Director of Marketing at Equitas Health, the parent organization of Prizm. “A strong writer for us since our first issue, and a highly connected member of the northern Ohio LGBTQ+ community, Ken brings his writing/editing talent and his strong network of influence to our news product.”
For 10 years, Schneck was the producer and host of This Show is So Gay, an award-winning, nationally syndicated radio show and podcast. His freelance work can regularly be seen in Cleveland Magazine and FreshWater Cleveland, and he was a featured contributor to the Huffington Post for six years. His books include Seriously…What Am I Doing Here? The Adventures of a Wondering and Wandering Gay Jew (1984 Publishing, 2017), LGBTQ Cleveland: Images of Modern America (Arcadia Publishing & The History Press, 2018), and LGBTQ Columbus: Images of Modern America (Arcadia Publishing & The History Press, 2019). As a professor of education at Baldwin Wallace University, Schneck teaches courses on antiracism, ethical leadership, and what individuals can do to create meaningful and community-based change in society.
“Working with Prizm as the editor is a great honor and a great responsibility,” says Schneck. “Alongside Prizm’s amazing team, I want to do everything I can do to raise up the voices of all LGBTQ+ individuals in every corner of the Buckeye State, and to help create content that is as inspiring as it is intersectional.”
