Eleven members of our community hope to serve their local communities in state, local and federal office. After a long campaign, today is decision day.

Today, they’re voting and waiting with the rest of us.

But for the last year, 11 LGBTQ Ohioans have been knocking on doors, marching in parades, talking with voters—and even riding a mechanical bull or sitting in a dunk tank—in search of support.

They’re running for seats in the Ohio House and Senate from every corner of Ohio, for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from Central Ohio and for the auditor’s office in Portage County.

A Toledo native and graduate of Toledo Public Schools, Bob has worked as a local government and politics reporter for The Columbus Dispatch, as a Washington correspondent for Thomson Newspapers and as editor-in-chief for Outlook Ohio.
