When Vice President Mike Pence came to Columbus on Friday to address fellow ultraconservatives, an outdoor dance party doubled as a protest against the Trump administration’s assault on LGBTQ Americans.

About 500 people danced the afternoon away on Gay Street across the street from Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel, where Pence spoke.

The Welcome Mike Pence Big LGBTQ Dance Party kicked off Pride celebrations in Columbus.
